Job Overview
As a Smart Grid Systems Engineer, you will design, implement, and optimize next-generation smart grid solutions to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. This role is critical to advancing Ghana’s energy resilience and supporting the integration of renewable energy sources into the national grid. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop smart grid systems, including advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and distribution automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate renewable energy sources into grid networks.
- Ensure compliance with national and international energy standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC).
- Provide technical support for grid monitoring, fault detection, and real-time energy management systems.
li>Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for grid modernization projects.
Required Skills
- Expertise in smart grid technologies, SCADA systems, and energy storage solutions.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Ghana’s energy policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field.
- Master’s Degree preferred (Power Systems specialization).
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in energy systems engineering, with a focus on smart grid projects.
- Proven track record in grid infrastructure design or energy transition initiatives.
Salary
12,000 – 18,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
