Job Overview
As a Smart City Solutions Architect, you will lead the design and deployment of integrated urban technology systems in Ghana’s growing cities. This role combines technical expertise with strategic planning to create sustainable, data-driven urban environments. The position is based in Wa, a key regional hub for infrastructure development in northern Ghana.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement smart city solutions including IoT-based traffic management, energy-efficient lighting, and waste management systems
- Collaborate with municipal authorities to align projects with national urban development goals
- Conduct feasibility studies for smart infrastructure projects
- Manage cross-functional teams of engineers, urban planners, and technology specialists
- Ensure compliance with international smart city standards and local regulations
Required Skills
- Expertise in urban technology platforms and smart infrastructure design
- Proficiency in CAD software and urban simulation tools
- Strong analytical skills for urban data interpretation
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent)
- Bilingual proficiency in English and local languages preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Smart Technologies, Civil Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree in Urban Technology or Smart Cities is an advantage.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in smart city project development, preferably with municipal infrastructure projects in African markets. Experience with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure platform is highly desirable.
Salary
12,000 – 18,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and project impact.
