Job Overview
The Solar Power Sales Engineer will drive the sales cycle for residential, commercial, and industrial solar projects in the Ashanti Region. You will act as the technical bridge between customers and engineering teams, delivering tailored solutions that meet client needs and regulatory standards. This position involves prospecting new markets, conducting site assessments, preparing proposals, and closing deals that align with SunPower’s sustainability mission. The role is pivotal in expanding SunPower’s footprint in Ghana, supporting the country’s transition to clean power, and delivering measurable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities in the solar market across Kumasi and surrounding areas.
- Conduct on‑site assessments, gather technical data, and develop customized solar system designs.
- Prepare detailed proposals, cost estimates, and ROI analyses for clients.
- Present solutions to decision‑makers, addressing technical and financial questions.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Negotiate contracts, close sales, and achieve quarterly revenue targets.
- Maintain a robust pipeline using CRM tools and provide regular sales forecasts.
- Stay updated on industry trends, government incentives, and regulatory changes affecting solar deployments.
- Represent SunPower at industry events, trade shows, and community outreach programs.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of photovoltaic technology, system design, and grid integration.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proven sales negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and able to work independently.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Twi is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Certifications in solar design (e.g., NABCEP) are highly desirable and will enhance candidacy.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of proven experience in solar sales, renewable energy consulting, or a related technical sales role. Experience working with commercial or industrial clients in Ghana or the broader West African market is preferred.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 3,000 to SSP 5,000 per month, commensurate with experience and performance. A performance‑based commission structure is also offered, providing unlimited earning potential for high achievers.
