Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Biologist to join our team in Tema, Ghana. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our marine conservation efforts in Ghana, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to protect and restore marine ecosystems.

As a Marine Biologist with WWF, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects, from conducting research on marine species and habitats to developing and implementing conservation plans. You will also have the chance to collaborate with other experts in the field and contribute to the development of national and international policies on marine conservation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead WWF’s marine conservation efforts in Ghana, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Conduct research on marine species and habitats, and develop and implement conservation plans
  • Collaborate with other experts in the field and contribute to the development of national and international policies on marine conservation
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and other NGOs
  • Provide technical support and guidance to WWF’s marine conservation team in Ghana

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Marine Biology or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in marine conservation, preferably in a developing country context
  • Strong knowledge of marine ecosystems and conservation principles
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education

A Master’s degree in Marine Biology or a related field is required for this position.
