Job Overview
Tamale Teaching Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join its professional healthcare team in Tamale. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, support physicians in medical procedures, and maintain safe clinical practices in accordance with hospital policies and Ghana Health Service standards.
This role requires a dedicated healthcare professional with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment. Nurses will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered treatment and ensure positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and documenting patient progress.
Assist physicians and specialists during medical examinations, surgical procedures, and treatments.
Maintain accurate patient medical records and nursing documentation.
Perform patient assessments, identify health concerns, and implement appropriate care plans.
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and preventive healthcare.
Ensure compliance with infection control policies and safety protocols.
Monitor and manage medical equipment and supplies.
Participate in emergency response procedures when necessary.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective care coordination.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards in nursing practice.
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing or Healthcare Sciences.
Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council Ghana license.
3–5 years of clinical nursing experience in hospital or healthcare settings.
Strong knowledge of patient care standards and medical procedures.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work rotating shifts including night duty and weekends.
Proficiency in healthcare documentation systems.
Salary & Benefits
Annual Salary: Approximately GHS 48,000 – GHS 60,000 per year
