Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute sustainable events, including conferences, festivals, and corporate functions.
  • Develop and implement waste reduction, energy efficiency, and carbon offset strategies for events.
  • Coordinate with local vendors to source eco-friendly materials and services.
  • Train event staff on sustainability best practices and emergency protocols.
  • Monitor event budgets and ensure adherence to financial and environmental guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in event management with a focus on sustainability.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and green event certifications (e.g., ISO 20121).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proficiency in using event management software (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite).

Education

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications in sustainability (e.g., LEED, Green Meetings) are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of 3–5 years in event coordination, with demonstrable success in managing at least three large-scale sustainable events. Experience in Ghana’s event sector is preferred.

Salary

8,000 – 12,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and performance.
