Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Security Operations Center (SOC) team in Accra. The Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats and incidents. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our clients’ data. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and incident response methodologies. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.
- Analyze security incidents to determine their scope, impact, and root cause.
- Respond to security incidents by following established procedures, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and networks.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Prepare regular reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and overall security posture.
- Participate in security awareness training for employees.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the SOC’s capabilities and processes.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight).
- Experience with intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Knowledge of network security principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
- Familiarity with endpoint security solutions (antivirus, EDR).
- Understanding of common attack vectors and mitigation techniques.
- Ability to perform forensic analysis of security incidents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) are a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a closely related field is required. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications will be considered an advantage.
Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, preferably within a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment. Experience with incident response, threat hunting, and vulnerability management is essential.
