Job Overview
We are seeking a Digital Forestry Specialist to join our team in Mpraeso, Ghana. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry and conservation efforts.
The Digital Forestry Specialist will work closely with our forestry team to design and implement digital tools and platforms to monitor and manage forest health, track deforestation, and engage with local communities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry, conservation, and digital technologies, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry and conservation efforts
- Design and implement digital tools and platforms to monitor and manage forest health
- Track deforestation and develop strategies to prevent it
- Engage with local communities to raise awareness about the importance of forest conservation
- Collaborate with our forestry team to develop and implement conservation plans
Required Skills
- Strong background in forestry and conservation
- Excellent knowledge of digital technologies, including GIS, remote sensing, and data analytics
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in English and local languages
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related field
Experience
5-7 years of experience in forestry, conservation, or a related field
