Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an enterprise‑wide risk management framework aligned with regulatory standards and Ecobank’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead the identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of credit, market, operational, liquidity, and reputational risks.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports to the Board of Directors, senior management, and regulatory bodies.
  • Establish risk appetite statements, limits, and escalation procedures to ensure disciplined risk‑taking.
  • Oversee the implementation of risk analytics tools, stress‑testing models, and scenario analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance and Legal teams to ensure adherence to anti‑money‑laundering (AML) and Know‑Your‑Customer (KYC) requirements.
  • Mentor and develop a high‑performing risk management team, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Drive a risk‑aware culture through training, communication, and embedding risk considerations into business decision‑making.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in banking risk management, including credit, market, operational, and liquidity risk.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in risk modeling software.

Education

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in risk management within the banking sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven track record of designing and executing risk frameworks in a complex, multi‑branch environment.

Salary
