Job Overview
The Agricultural Supply Chain Manager will lead end‑to‑end logistics, procurement, and inventory management for Olam’s northern Ghana operations. Reporting to the Regional Supply Chain Director, the incumbent will design and implement strategies that optimize the flow of raw agricultural commodities from farms to processing facilities and export terminals. The role involves close collaboration with farmers, cooperatives, transport partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure product quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies that align with Olam’s regional growth objectives and sustainability standards.
- Manage relationships with farmer groups, cooperatives, and third‑party logistics providers to secure reliable sourcing and transportation.
- Oversee inventory planning, warehousing, and distribution processes to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
- Implement data‑driven forecasting tools and performance metrics to improve demand planning accuracy.
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to enforce compliance with food safety and export regulations.
- Lead cross‑functional projects aimed at reducing lead times, lowering costs, and enhancing traceability.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Deep understanding of agricultural commodity markets, especially in West Africa.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive change in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CSCP or CPIM are preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 5‑7 years of progressive experience in agricultural supply chain management, procurement, or logistics, preferably within an international agribusiness or FMCG environment.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 120,000 to SSP 180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and benefits.
