Job Overview

We are seeking a visionary Blockchain Solutions Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade blockchain solutions for our financial services and digital payment platforms in Ghana and across West Africa. This senior technical role requires deep expertise in distributed ledger technologies, smart contract development, and cryptographic security protocols. The successful candidate will architect scalable blockchain infrastructures that enhance payment processing, cross-border transactions, digital identity verification, and supply chain finance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, software engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical architectures. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect enterprise blockchain solutions for payment processing, digital identity, and financial inclusion initiatives
  • Develop technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps for distributed ledger projects
  • Evaluate and select appropriate blockchain platforms (Hyperledger, Ethereum, Corda, etc.) based on specific use cases and requirements
  • Design and implement smart contract architectures, tokenization frameworks, and decentralized application (dApp) ecosystems
  • Create interoperability solutions between blockchain networks and existing financial systems and databases
  • Develop cryptographic security protocols, key management systems, and privacy-preserving techniques for sensitive financial data
  • Lead proof-of-concept development and pilot implementations with partner financial institutions and technology providers
  • Establish governance models, consensus mechanisms, and network participation rules for consortium blockchains
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Ghana’s financial technology and data protection regulations
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams working on blockchain implementation projects
  • Conduct performance testing, scalability analysis, and security audits of blockchain networks and applications
  • Research emerging trends in decentralized finance (DeFi), central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and tokenized assets
  • Document architectural decisions, technical standards, and best practices for blockchain development within the organization

Required Skills

  • Expert knowledge of blockchain architecture patterns, consensus algorithms, and distributed systems design
  • Proficiency in smart contract development using Solidity, Vyper, or Chaincode with security-first methodologies
  • Deep understanding of cryptographic principles including public-key infrastructure, zero-knowledge proofs, and hash functions
  • Experience with blockchain platforms such as Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum, Corda, or Quorum in enterprise environments
  • Strong background in software architecture, microservices, API design, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of financial systems, payment processing, regulatory compliance, and risk management frameworks
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with experience in performance optimization and scalability challenges
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Project management expertise with agile methodologies and DevOps practices for blockchain development
  • Understanding of Ghana’s financial regulatory environment and emerging technology policies

Education

A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cryptography, or a related technical field is required. Additional certifications in blockchain architecture (such as Certified Blockchain Solution Architect), cloud architecture, or information security are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate continuous learning through participation in blockchain research, open-source contributions, or academic publications in distributed systems.

Experience

Minimum 7 years of professional experience in software architecture, systems design, or enterprise solution development, with at least 3 years specifically focused on blockchain and distributed ledger technologies. Must have hands-on experience designing and implementing production blockchain solutions for financial services, preferably in emerging markets. Proven track record of leading technical teams through the complete blockchain development lifecycle from concept to deployment. Experience working with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, or fintech startups in Ghana or West Africa is particularly valuable. Familiarity with Ghana’s digital financial ecosystem and mobile money infrastructure is advantageous.
