Job Overview
This role focuses on designing and executing cross-platform digital storytelling projects that highlight Ghanaian cultural heritage while addressing contemporary social issues. The consultant will work directly with BBC Media Action’s creative team to produce compelling content for international audiences while mentoring local emerging creators. The position offers unique opportunities to contribute to global media initiatives while advancing Ghana’s creative economy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop multimedia storytelling frameworks combining traditional narratives with modern digital formats
- Collaborate with local artists, historians, and community leaders to document cultural practices
- Produce interactive content for web, mobile, and social media platforms
- Conduct workshops on digital storytelling techniques for local creators
- Analyze audience engagement metrics to optimize content strategies
Required Skills
- Expertise in digital content creation tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro)
- Strong understanding of narrative structure and visual communication
- Cross-cultural communication and community engagement experience
- Proficiency in video editing, motion graphics, and interactive media design
- Knowledge of Ghanaian cultural traditions and historical contexts
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies, Digital Communications, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Cultural Studies or Digital Media preferred
