Job Overview
OceanGuard Technologies Ghana Limited is seeking a skilled Marine Robotics Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) for environmental monitoring. This role is critical to advancing Ghana’s marine conservation efforts and supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water).

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop autonomous underwater robotics systems for marine data collection
- Conduct field deployments and maintenance of AUVs in coastal and offshore environments
- Collaborate with environmental scientists to integrate sensor systems for biodiversity monitoring
- Analyze telemetry data to optimize robot performance and mission outcomes
- Train local teams on robotics operation and maintenance protocols
Required Skills
- Proficiency in marine robotics design and programming (ROS, Python, C++)
- Experience with underwater sensor integration (sonar, cameras, environmental sensors)
- Strong understanding of oceanographic principles and marine ecosystems
- Excellent problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex systems
li>Ability to work in remote coastal environments with minimal supervision
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or equivalent technical field. Advanced degrees (Master’s/PhD) in Marine Technology or Environmental Engineering are a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in marine robotics systems engineering, preferably with autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) or remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). Experience in environmental conservation projects is highly desirable.
Salary
15,000 – 25,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
