Job Overview

The Podcast Producer will be responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and managing a series of educational and engaging podcasts that align with Ashesi’s mission. This role requires a creative individual with strong technical skills in audio production and a passion for storytelling. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a growing media platform while working in a collaborative, academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and develop podcast ideas that align with Ashesi’s academic and outreach goals.
  • Plan, record, edit, and publish high-quality audio content on a regular schedule.
  • Collaborate with faculty, students, and external experts to create compelling content.
  • Manage podcast equipment, software, and distribution platforms (e.g., Spotify, Apple Podcasts).
  • Conduct research and interviews to support podcast themes and guest selection.
  • Monitor audience engagement and provide insights for content improvement.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in podcast production, including audio editing and post-production.
  • Proficiency in audio software such as Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for scriptwriting and guest coordination.
  • Creativity in developing engaging and educational content.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of academic or educational content creation.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications in audio production or digital media are a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in podcast production or media content creation.
  • Portfolio of previously produced podcasts or audio projects.

Salary

15,000 – 20,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
