Job Overview

The Senior Mine Safety Analyst will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety programs at the Obuasi mine. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and update the mine’s safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety considerations into project designs.
• Provide safety training and mentorship to supervisors, contractors, and field personnel.
• Monitor compliance with Ghanaian mining safety regulations and international standards such as ISO 45001.
• Prepare detailed safety reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through communication campaigns and employee engagement.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of mining safety regulations, occupational health standards, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven approach.
• Effective communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or NEBOSH are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in mine safety, occupational health, or a similar high‑risk industry. Experience with large‑scale mining operations and familiarity with Ghanaian mining legislation will be considered a strong asset.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500 to SSP 4,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
