Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Agriculture Extension Specialist to join our team in Techiman, Ghana. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to smallholder farmers and rural communities in the implementation of sustainable agriculture practices.

The Sustainable Agriculture Extension Specialist will work closely with local stakeholders, including farmers, extension agents, and community leaders, to promote the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural practices and improve agricultural productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and support to smallholder farmers and rural communities in the implementation of sustainable agriculture practices.
• Develop and implement training programs for farmers and extension agents on sustainable agriculture practices.
• Conduct field visits to monitor and evaluate the adoption of sustainable agriculture practices by farmers.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders, including farmers, extension agents, and community leaders, to promote the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local partners, including NGOs, community-based organizations, and private sector companies.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in agricultural extension or a related field.
• Proven experience in promoting sustainable agriculture practices and improving agricultural productivity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and build strong relationships with local stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, or a related field.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in agricultural extension or a related field.
