Job Overview
The Sustainable Urban Mobility Planner will lead initiatives to transform Koforidua into a model city for low-emission transportation. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement urban mobility plans aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Conduct feasibility studies for new transportation infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with municipal stakeholders to optimize traffic flow and reduce emissions
- Develop public engagement campaigns to promote sustainable commuting habits
- Monitor and report on the environmental impact of mobility initiatives
Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and transportation modeling software (e.g., TransCAD)
- Strong analytical skills for traffic data interpretation
- Experience with urban policy development and stakeholder negotiation
- Creative problem-solving in complex urban environments
- Fluency in both English and local dialects (e.g., Akan, Twi) is a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years in urban mobility planning or transportation engineering
- Proven track record in sustainable infrastructure projects
Salary
15,000 – 20,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
