Job Overview

The Sustainable Urban Mobility Planner will lead initiatives to transform Koforidua into a model city for low-emission transportation. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement urban mobility plans aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new transportation infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with municipal stakeholders to optimize traffic flow and reduce emissions
  • Develop public engagement campaigns to promote sustainable commuting habits
  • Monitor and report on the environmental impact of mobility initiatives

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and transportation modeling software (e.g., TransCAD)
  • Strong analytical skills for traffic data interpretation
  • Experience with urban policy development and stakeholder negotiation
  • Creative problem-solving in complex urban environments
  • Fluency in both English and local dialects (e.g., Akan, Twi) is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Master’s Degree preferred

Experience

Salary

15,000 – 20,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
