Job Overview
Veolia is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to lead regulatory adherence initiatives in Sekondi-Takoradi. This role will ensure all operations comply with Ghanaian environmental laws and international sustainability frameworks. The ideal candidate will drive audits, develop compliance strategies, and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain Veolia’s commitment to environmental excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with national and international environmental regulations.
- Conduct site audits to assess adherence to waste management, emissions, and resource usage standards.
- Prepare detailed compliance reports and present findings to senior management.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans for non-compliant operations.
- Collaborate with local authorities and industry partners on sustainability initiatives.
Required Skills
- Expertise in Ghanaian environmental legislation and ISO 14001 standards.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting regulatory data and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication abilities to liaise with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in environmental impact assessment tools and software.
- Problem-solving mindset to address compliance challenges proactively.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Advanced certification in Environmental Compliance (e.g., CEP, LEED) is a plus.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in environmental compliance or sustainability roles.
- Proven track record in managing regulatory audits and corrective actions.
Salary
15,000 – 20,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
