Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Corporate Treasury Analyst to join our Treasury Department in Tema. This critical role involves managing the bank’s liquidity, funding, and interest rate risk, while optimizing the balance sheet and ensuring regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage daily liquidity positions and cash flow forecasts for the bank.
  • Execute money market transactions including placements, borrowings, and foreign exchange swaps.
  • Analyze interest rate risk and assist in the development of hedging strategies.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly treasury management reports for internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Maintain relationships with correspondent banks and other financial institutions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of treasury policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with internal limits and regulatory requirements set by the Bank of Ghana.
  • Analyze market trends, economic data, and their potential impact on the bank’s treasury portfolio.
  • Support the funding strategy and capital management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the ALM (Asset and Liability Management) team on balance sheet optimization projects.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent understanding of money markets, foreign exchange, and fixed income products.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and Basel frameworks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow within the treasury function.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field is required. A professional qualification such as ACCA, CFA, or ACI dealing certificate will be a significant advantage. Candidates must demonstrate a solid academic record and a proven understanding of corporate finance and treasury principles.

Experience

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a treasury, finance, or banking role is essential. Prior experience in a bank’s treasury department, dealing room, or a corporate treasury function is highly preferred. Experience with treasury management systems (TMS) and Bloomberg/Reuters terminals is desirable. The candidate must have a track record of accurate financial analysis and reporting.
