Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join our team in Wa, Ghana.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to IFAD-funded projects in Ghana, with a focus on sustainable agriculture practices and rural development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and support to IFAD-funded projects in Ghana, with a focus on sustainable agriculture practices and rural development initiatives.
- Work closely with project teams, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable agriculture practices and rural development initiatives.
- Conduct field visits to project sites to monitor progress and provide technical assistance and support to project teams.
- Develop and implement training programs for project staff and beneficiaries on sustainable agriculture practices and rural development initiatives.
- Collaborate with other IFAD staff and external partners to promote sustainable agriculture practices and rural development initiatives.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in sustainable agriculture and rural development, with a focus on smallholder farmers and rural communities.
- Strong technical knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices and rural development initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Fluency in English, with knowledge of local languages an asset.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
Experience
At least 5 years of experience in sustainable agriculture and rural development, with a focus on smallholder farmers and rural communities.
