Job Overview

The Agricultural Procurement Manager will lead the sourcing strategy for raw cocoa beans and related agricultural inputs, ensuring a reliable supply chain that meets quality standards and cost targets. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy for cocoa beans, fertilizers, and farm equipment.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with farmers, cooperatives, and suppliers to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply risks to proactively adjust sourcing plans.
• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian agricultural regulations, sustainability standards, and corporate social responsibility policies.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain strict quality specifications for all procured inputs.
• Manage a team of procurement officers, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, savings, and supplier performance for senior management.

Required Skills

• Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of Ghana’s cocoa farming ecosystem and supply chain dynamics.
• Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and procurement software.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership experience in managing cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or a Master’s degree are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years’ experience in agricultural procurement, preferably within the cocoa or broader agribusiness sector. Demonstrated success in supplier relationship management and cost‑reduction initiatives is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 3,000 to SSP 5,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
