Job Overview
The Network Optimization Manager will lead the planning, design, and optimization of Vodafone Ghana’s radio access network (RAN) to ensure superior coverage, capacity, and quality of service. Reporting to the Head of Network Operations, the manager will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, drive performance improvement initiatives, and implement best practices aligned with industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute network optimization strategies to improve coverage, capacity, and quality of service across Keta and surrounding regions.
- Analyze performance metrics, drive root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead network planning projects, including site acquisition, RF design, and capacity forecasting.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and rollout teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies such as 5G and LTE‑Advanced.
- Monitor and manage network inventory, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting optimization outcomes and future recommendations.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the network operations department.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in radio frequency (RF) engineering, network planning, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency with network analysis tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet, TEMS, NetAct).
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Project management experience with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
- Knowledge of Ghanaian telecommunications regulations and standards.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Radio Planner (CRP) are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants must have 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience in network planning, optimization, or RF engineering within a telecom environment. Demonstrated success in leading optimization projects and delivering measurable performance improvements is essential.
Salary
