Job Overview
Join our team in Navrongo as a Climate Resilience Project Coordinator to lead efforts in designing and implementing climate adaptation strategies for vulnerable communities. This role requires collaboration with local stakeholders, government agencies, and international partners to ensure long-term environmental and socio-economic sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute climate resilience projects aligned with national and international environmental goals.
- Conduct field assessments to identify climate vulnerabilities and prioritize intervention areas.
- Coordinate with local communities to implement sustainable land and water management practices.
- Monitor and evaluate project impacts using GIS and remote sensing technologies.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and funding proposals for donors and stakeholders.
- Facilitate training workshops on climate adaptation techniques for farmers and community leaders.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in climate change mitigation and adaptation project management.
- Strong understanding of environmental policy and international climate frameworks (e.g., Paris Agreement).
- Proficiency in GIS software and data analysis tools (QGIS, ArcGIS).
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in remote, rural environments with limited infrastructure.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, or related field. Master’s preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience in environmental conservation or climate resilience projects.
- Previous work in West Africa or similar regions is an advantage.
Salary
15,000 – 20,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
