The International Potato Center (CIP) is a non-profit organization that conducts research and development to improve potato and sweet potato production and marketing in developing countries. CIP has a strong presence in Ghana and is looking for a Digital Agriculture Specialist to join its team.
CIP is committed to reducing poverty and improving food security in developing countries through the development and dissemination of improved potato and sweet potato varieties, as well as the promotion of sustainable agriculture practices.
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Digital Agriculture Specialist to join our team in Nsawam, Ghana. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital agriculture solutions to improve potato and sweet potato production in Ghana.
The Digital Agriculture Specialist will work closely with our research and development team to design and implement digital agriculture projects that promote sustainable agriculture practices and improve crop yields.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital agriculture solutions to improve potato and sweet potato production in Ghana
- Work closely with our research and development team to design and implement digital agriculture projects
- Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for digital agriculture solutions in Ghana
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including farmers, extension agents, and government officials
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of digital agriculture solutions on potato and sweet potato production in Ghana
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Agriculture or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in digital agriculture or related field
- Strong understanding of digital agriculture solutions and their application in developing countries
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with stakeholders
Education
The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in Agriculture or a related field. A Ph.D. in Agriculture or a related field is an added advantage.
Experience
The successful candidate must have at least 5-7 years of experience in digital agriculture or a related field. Experience working in developing countries is an added advantage.
Salary
The successful candidate will be offered a salary of 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
