Job Overview

This role involves designing and implementing environmental education initiatives to raise awareness about climate change, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable resource management. The position is ideal for professionals passionate about bridging education and environmental action in rural Ghanaian communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver environmental education curricula for schools and community workshops
  • Collaborate with local NGOs, schools, and government agencies to expand program reach
  • Conduct field research to assess community needs and environmental challenges
  • Organize public campaigns on waste management, renewable energy, and conservation
  • Monitor and evaluate program impact using data-driven methodologies

Required Skills

  • Expertise in curriculum development and adult education
  • Strong project management and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Knowledge of Ghanaian environmental policies and community engagement practices
  • Proficiency in using GIS tools for environmental mapping
  • Fluency in English and local languages (e.g., Twi, Ewe) is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Education, or related field
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not mandatory

Experience

  • 3-5 years in environmental education, community development, or related roles
  • Proven experience in program design and implementation

Salary

10,000 – 15,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
