Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Automation Systems Integrator to join our dynamic Engineering team in Tema. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive industrial automation and control system architectures based on Rockwell Automation technologies.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other network devices.
  • Lead the systems integration phase, ensuring seamless communication between PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and higher-level business systems (MES/ERP).
  • Develop detailed functional design specifications, network diagrams, and control panel layouts.
  • Perform on-site and factory acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), system commissioning, and start-up support for clients.
  • Provide high-level technical support and troubleshooting for installed systems, minimizing client downtime.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop technical proposals and project estimates.
  • Conduct training sessions for clients and junior engineers on system operation and maintenance.
  • Stay current with the latest Rockwell Automation products, software updates, and industry best practices in automation.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to relevant international standards (e.g., IEC, ISA) and safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Expert proficiency in Rockwell Automation software: Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, FactoryTalk Linx, and RSLogix 5000.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, Modbus).
  • Proven experience in control system design, panel design, and electrical schematic interpretation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex system diagnostics.
  • Strong project management abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Outstanding client-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Commitment to safety in all aspects of design and field service work.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. A Master’s degree is advantageous. Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain relevant Rockwell Automation certifications. Continuous professional development is supported and encouraged.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, programming, and commissioning industrial automation systems is essential. Candidates must have a proven track record with Rockwell Automation platforms. Experience in the food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or automotive manufacturing sectors within Ghana or West Africa is highly desirable. Prior experience in a systems integrator role or with an OEM is a strong plus.
