Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sustainable Agriculture Project Manager to lead our initiatives in Tamale. This role will oversee the implementation of climate-smart farming projects, ensuring alignment with global sustainability standards while fostering local economic growth. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technological innovation and traditional farming practices, creating a model for future agricultural development in Ghana.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute sustainable agriculture projects aligned with UN SDGs
  • Collaborate with local farming communities to implement eco-friendly practices
  • Monitor and evaluate project impact using data-driven metrics
  • Secure funding through grants and partnerships with international donors
  • Train farmers in modern irrigation and soil conservation techniques
  • Coordinate with government agencies on agricultural policy compliance

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in agricultural project management
  • Strong understanding of sustainable farming methodologies
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • li>Proficiency in agricultural software (e.g., FarmBeats, Agriya)

  • Fluency in local languages (Dagbani preferred)
  • Ability to work in remote rural environments

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field. Advanced degree (MSc) in Sustainable Development or Agribusiness is a strong advantage.

Experience

3-5 years in agricultural project management, with at least 1 year in sustainable farming initiatives. Experience working with international NGOs or government agricultural programs is preferred.

Salary

150,000 – 250,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience and project impact metrics.
