Job Overview

This role is part of Solaris Energy’s expansion into West African energy markets. The Renewable Energy Systems Designer will lead the conceptualization, modeling, and optimization of off-grid and grid-tied renewable energy systems tailored to Ghana’s diverse energy needs. The position requires collaboration with engineers, local stakeholders, and international teams to deliver scalable solutions aligned with global sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate renewable energy systems (solar, wind, hybrid) using industry-standard software tools.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for energy projects in Ghana.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate energy systems with existing infrastructure.
  • Prepare technical documentation, cost estimates, and project proposals for clients.
  • Monitor project performance post-implementation and recommend improvements.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and energy modeling tools (HOMER Pro, PVsyst).
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating energy demand and system efficiency.
  • Knowledge of Ghana’s energy regulations and renewable energy incentives.
  • Excellent communication skills for client presentations and technical reporting.
  • Bilingual advantage (English and Twi/Fante).

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Renewable Energy Systems. Advanced degrees or certifications in energy engineering are preferred.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in renewable energy system design, with a proven track record in project delivery. Experience in West African markets is a significant advantage.

Salary

12,000 – 18,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and project impact.
