Job Overview
This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with Ghana’s Data Protection Act and global frameworks like GDPR. The Data Privacy Compliance Officer will lead initiatives to assess risks, implement safeguards, and foster a culture of data ethics across PwC’s operations in West Africa. The position offers opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence policy development in a rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce data privacy policies aligned with local and international regulations.
- Conduct audits to identify vulnerabilities in data handling processes.
- Provide training to employees on data protection best practices.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies for compliance reporting.
- Design incident response protocols for data breaches.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in data privacy frameworks (GDPR, DP Act 2019).
- Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and mitigation.
- Excellent communication for stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in cybersecurity tools and compliance software.
- Ability to interpret legal and technical requirements.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Law, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Data Privacy (CIPP/E or CIPM) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in data compliance or cybersecurity roles.
- Experience in audit or risk management is advantageous.
Salary
15,000 – 25,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
