Job Overview

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive EHS programs at the Obuasi Mine. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and standards aligned with local legislation and global best practices.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analyses, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Manage environmental monitoring programs, including air, water, waste, and biodiversity stewardship.
• Provide EHS training and coaching to all staff, contractors, and visitors, promoting a safety‑first culture.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports, permits, and compliance documentation to Ghanaian authorities.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety considerations into project design and execution.
• Lead emergency response planning, drills, and crisis management activities.
• Track EHS performance metrics, produce dashboards, and present findings to senior management.
• Engage with local communities and NGOs to address environmental concerns and promote sustainable development.

Required Skills

Education

A minimum of five years of progressive experience in EHS management within the mining or heavy‑industry sector is required.
