Job Overview

The Construction Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multi‑million‑dollar construction projects in the Kumasi region. Reporting to the Regional Director, the role involves coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets aligned with client specifications.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor progress, conduct site inspections, and enforce safety and quality standards.
  • Manage change orders, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare regular status reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghanaian building codes, environmental regulations, and international best practices.
  • Facilitate effective communication between client, design team, and construction crew.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • In‑depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost control.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making under pressure.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized local construction license are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience managing large‑scale construction projects, preferably within the West African market. Experience with public‑private partnership (PPP) projects or infrastructure development is a plus.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 5,000 to SSP 8,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances are also part of the compensation package.
