Job Overview
The Precision Agriculture Solutions Manager will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of data‑centric farming solutions for commercial and smallholder growers in the Eastern Region and beyond. This role bridges the gap between cutting‑edge technology and on‑the‑ground agricultural practices, ensuring that John Deere’s precision tools—such as GPS‑guided equipment, variable rate technology, and farm management software—deliver measurable yield improvements and resource efficiency. The manager will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including sales, engineering, agronomy, and customer support, to drive adoption of precision agriculture practices and expand John Deere’s market presence in Ghana.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a regional strategy for precision agriculture solution adoption, targeting both large agribusinesses and smallholder farms.
- Conduct on‑site assessments, soil sampling, and data collection to design customized variable rate prescriptions.
- Lead training workshops and field demonstrations on the use of GPS‑guided machinery, telematics, and farm management platforms.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on product performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze agronomic data to generate actionable insights that improve yield, reduce input costs, and promote sustainable practices.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including farmer cooperatives, government agencies, and research institutions.
- Prepare detailed proposals, ROI analyses, and performance reports for clients and senior management.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to keep John Deere at the forefront of agricultural innovation.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of precision agriculture technologies, including GPS, GIS, IoT sensors, and farm management software.
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Proven ability to build and nurture client relationships in a consultative sales environment.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Twi, Ga) is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a closely related field is required. Advanced certifications in precision farming, GIS, or data analytics are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years’ experience in precision agriculture, agronomy consulting, or agricultural technology sales. Demonstrated success in leading technology adoption projects and delivering measurable agronomic outcomes.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 3,500 to SSP 5,500 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based incentives and bonuses are also part of the total rewards.
