Job Overview
The Forensic Accounting Manager will lead complex financial investigations, fraud risk assessments, and litigation support engagements for KPMG Ghana’s clients across various sectors, including banking, mining, energy, and manufacturing. Reporting to the Head of Forensic Services, the manager will oversee a team of forensic accountants, coordinate with legal counsel, and deliver actionable insights that help clients mitigate risk and recover losses. Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end forensic investigations, including fraud detection, asset tracing, and financial statement analysis.
- Develop and implement fraud risk assessment frameworks tailored to client industries.
- Prepare detailed investigative reports, expert witness testimony, and litigation support documentation.
- Manage and mentor a team of junior forensic accountants and analysts.
- Collaborate with KPMG’s audit, tax, and advisory teams to provide integrated solutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging fraud schemes, regulatory changes, and forensic technologies.
- Engage with clients to understand their risk concerns and propose proactive mitigation strategies.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of forensic accounting techniques, data mining, and digital evidence collection.
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as ACL, IDEA, Tableau, and advanced Excel.
- Strong understanding of Ghanaian financial regulations, anti‑money laundering (AML) laws, and international accounting standards (IFRS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and courtroom testimony.
- Leadership ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and drive project delivery.
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, and a high level of professional integrity.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is mandatory. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), or CISA are highly preferred. Advanced degrees (e.g., MSc in Forensic Accounting) are considered an asset.
Experience
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in forensic accounting, fraud investigation, or related fields, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience working with large corporate clients, financial institutions, or government agencies is advantageous.
Salary
The annual compensation package ranges from 120,000 to 180,000 SSP, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, pension contributions, and professional development allowances.
