Job Overview
The Blockchain Compliance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that all blockchain-based products and services offered by Ecobank Ghana adhere to local and international regulatory frameworks. This includes monitoring transactions, conducting risk assessments, developing compliance policies, and collaborating with technology teams to embed compliance controls within blockchain solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor blockchain transactions for suspicious activity and ensure alignment with anti‑money laundering (AML) and counter‑terrorist financing (CTF) regulations.
- Develop, update, and enforce compliance policies specific to distributed ledger technologies.
- Conduct periodic risk assessments of blockchain platforms, smart contracts, and tokenized assets.
- Collaborate with the IT and product development teams to embed compliance controls into blockchain architecture.
- Prepare regulatory reports and liaise with Ghanaian financial authorities, such as the Bank of Ghana and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on blockchain compliance best practices.
- Stay abreast of global regulatory developments related to cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and decentralized finance (DeFi).
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, smart contracts, and tokenization.
- In‑depth understanding of Ghanaian financial regulations, AML/CTF frameworks, and international standards such as FATF.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify compliance risks.
- Excellent communication skills for drafting policies, reports, and delivering training sessions.
- Proficiency in compliance software tools and familiarity with data analytics platforms.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with technology, legal, and business teams.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Anti‑Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or blockchain‑specific credentials (e.g., Certified Blockchain Professional) are highly desirable.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs within the financial services sector, preferably with exposure to fintech or blockchain initiatives. Prior experience in a banking environment is advantageous.
Salary
