Job Overview
The Construction Project Controls Engineer will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and reporting on the cost, schedule, and performance metrics of construction projects in the Obuasi region. Reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager, the role ensures that project objectives are met within budgetary and time constraints while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The engineer will work closely with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives to provide accurate forecasts, risk assessments, and corrective actions. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash‑flow forecasts, and track actual expenditures against baseline budgets.
- Generate weekly and monthly performance reports, including earned value analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting.
- Identify schedule and cost risks, propose mitigation strategies, and update risk registers accordingly.
- Collaborate with site teams to collect accurate progress data, change orders, and claim documentation.
- Support the procurement team by providing cost impact assessments for material and equipment orders.
- Facilitate regular project control meetings, presenting insights to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Utilize BIM models and digital tools to enhance data accuracy and visual reporting.
- Mentor junior project control staff and promote best practices across project teams.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost control tools (SAP, Oracle Primavera Cost).
- Strong analytical abilities with a focus on earned value management and risk analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to diverse audiences.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with a commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized Project Controls qualification are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in project controls for large‑scale construction projects, preferably within the mining, infrastructure, or commercial sectors. Experience with multinational project environments and exposure to African market dynamics will be considered an advantage.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 3,000 to SSP 5,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be applicable.
