Job Overview
PwC Ghana is seeking a Digital Accessibility Consultant to design, implement, and audit web and software applications for compliance with international accessibility standards. This role supports Ghana’s growing digital economy by ensuring technology solutions are inclusive for people with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accessibility audits of digital platforms using WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
- Develop and implement remediation strategies for non-compliant features.
- Collaborate with developers to integrate accessibility into software development lifecycles.
- Train teams on accessibility best practices and tools.
- Stay updated on global accessibility standards and Ghanaian regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Expertise in WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 compliance standards.
- Proficiency in screen reader tools (e.g., JAWS, NVDA) and accessibility testing software.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for accessibility implementation.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.
li>Experience with AT (Assistive Technology) compatibility testing.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA), GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT).
Experience
- 3-5 years in digital accessibility consulting or software development.
- Proven track record in accessibility project management.
Salary
12,000 – 18,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
