Job Overview: We are seeking a Digital Forestry Specialist to join our team in Mankessim, Ghana. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry and conservation efforts. This will include designing and implementing digital tools to monitor and analyze forest health, as well as developing educational materials to promote sustainable forest management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry and conservation efforts
- Design and implement digital tools to monitor and analyze forest health
- Develop educational materials to promote sustainable forest management practices
- Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to develop and implement conservation strategies
- Conduct research and analysis to inform conservation decisions
Required Skills:
- Strong technical skills in digital mapping and analysis
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in English and local languages
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in forestry and conservation, with a focus on digital solutions
Salary: 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum
