Job Overview
The Supply Chain Sustainability Analyst will play a pivotal role in integrating environmental and social responsibility into Nestlé Ghana’s end‑to‑end supply chain. Reporting to the Supply Chain Sustainability Manager, the analyst will assess carbon footprints, evaluate supplier sustainability performance, and develop data‑driven strategies to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency, and enhance traceability. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence corporate sustainability policies while supporting the company’s commitment to delivering high‑quality products responsibly. Candidates will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including procurement, logistics, quality assurance, and corporate affairs, to embed sustainable practices throughout the value chain. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct life‑cycle assessments (LCA) of key product lines to quantify environmental impacts such as carbon emissions, water usage, and waste generation.
- Develop and maintain a supplier sustainability scorecard, monitoring compliance with Nestlé’s Responsible Sourcing Guidelines.
- Collaborate with procurement to integrate sustainability criteria into supplier selection, contract negotiations, and performance reviews.
- Identify opportunities for circular economy initiatives, including packaging redesign, waste valorisation, and resource recovery.
- Prepare regular sustainability reports for internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring alignment with global ESG reporting standards.
- Support the implementation of renewable energy projects and energy‑efficiency measures within manufacturing and distribution facilities.
- Facilitate training sessions for internal teams on sustainable sourcing, carbon accounting, and best practices in green logistics.
- Stay abreast of local and international regulations, industry trends, and emerging technologies that impact supply chain sustainability.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data‑analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, SASB) and experience applying them in a corporate setting.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex data to non‑technical audiences.
- Project management experience, with the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives from concept to execution.
- Familiarity with supply chain software (SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and sustainability modules.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), LEED Green Associate, or a Master’s degree in Sustainability will be considered an advantage.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in supply chain analysis, sustainability reporting, or environmental management within a manufacturing or FMCG context. Experience working in multinational corporations or with global sustainability initiatives is highly valued.
