Job Overview
The Data Center Operations Manager will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of AWS’s regional data center in Hohoe, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of critical cloud services. The role involves managing a multidisciplinary team, coordinating maintenance activities, implementing best‑practice operational procedures, and collaborating with engineering, security, and compliance teams. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise data center staff, including technicians, engineers, and support personnel.
- Monitor and maintain infrastructure uptime, capacity, and performance metrics.
- Develop and enforce operational SOPs, safety standards, and security protocols.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, hardware upgrades, and emergency response activities.
- Collaborate with AWS engineering teams to implement new technologies and capacity expansions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and AWS internal policies.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements.
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior leadership.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
- Deep knowledge of data center infrastructure: power, cooling, networking, and security.
- Proficiency with monitoring tools and automation platforms.
- Excellent problem‑solving and incident‑management skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
- Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, ITIL, or Data Center Certified Associate are highly desirable.
Experience
Applicants must have at least five years of hands‑on experience in data center operations, with a proven track record of managing large‑scale facilities and leading technical teams. Prior exposure to cloud environments and experience in a multinational technology company will be considered an advantage.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role also includes performance‑based bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
