Job Overview

The Mobile Payments Product Manager will lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of MTN’s mobile payment products, from ideation and market research to launch and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for mobile payment solutions aligned with market needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and user research to identify opportunities and drive product differentiation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate requirements into detailed specifications, user stories, and functional prototypes.
  • Lead agile product development cycles, prioritize backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality features.
  • Work closely with compliance, risk, and legal teams to guarantee product adherence to Ghanaian financial regulations and data protection standards.
  • Develop go‑to‑market strategies, pricing models, and promotional plans in partnership with marketing and sales.
  • Monitor product performance metrics, gather user feedback, and implement iterative improvements to enhance adoption and satisfaction.
  • Represent the product in stakeholder meetings, executive briefings, and industry conferences to promote MTN’s fintech leadership.

Required Skills

  • Strong product management expertise with a proven track record of launching successful fintech or mobile payment products.
  • Deep understanding of mobile ecosystems, digital wallets, and payment processing technologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills, data‑driven decision making, and ability to translate insights into actionable product features.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing cross‑functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Ghanaian financial regulations, KYC/AML requirements, and data security standards.
  • Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution mindset.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, PMP) are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years of product management experience in the financial technology sector, with at least two years focused on mobile payments or digital wallets. Experience working within regulated environments and leading cross‑functional teams is essential.
