Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our production processes in the Bawku facility. This role involves rigorous monitoring of raw materials, in-process production stages, and finished goods to ensure compliance with both local regulatory standards and international safety protocols. You will be responsible for implementing quality management systems that prevent contamination and ensure nutritional consistency. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits of production lines to ensure adherence to HACCP and ISO standards.
- Perform chemical and microbiological testing on raw materials and finished products.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans for any quality deviations identified during testing.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to vet new suppliers based on quality benchmarks.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all quality control tests and compliance reports.
- Train production staff on hygiene, sanitation, and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS).
- Proficiency in laboratory testing methodologies and equipment calibration.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data sets and trends.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to zero-defect manufacturing.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a closely related scientific discipline is mandatory. Professional certification in Quality Management or Food Safety is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess between 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within a large-scale manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or beverage sector.
